How to make a Mexican three-milk cake is like a simple sponge cake, except that after baking, it is soaked in a combination of three types of milk. There are other examples of wet cakes such as Tiramisu in other countries.
Baking a three-milk cake is not difficult at all, but it takes a long time to rest at different stages. Therefore, it is better to prepare this delicious and fresh dessert for the ceremony or party from the previous day. Along with coffee and tea, this cake is one of the most delicious dinners for spring and summer.
Ingredients (for 6 people)
- White flour: 1.5 cups
- Milk: 250 ml
- Sugar: A measure
- Confectionery cream: 250 grams
- Honey milk: 200 ml
- Coconut milk: 250 ml
- Eggs: 5 pcs
- Melted butter: half a cup
- Vanilla: half a teaspoon
- Baking powder: 1 tbsp
How to make a three-milk cake
Lay the eggs out beforehand to keep them warm. Then beat them with vanilla and sugar with an electric mixer.
You have to beat the eggs and sugar until it is creamy, fluffy and elastic.
At this stage, add melted butter or liquid oil and stir a little more to mix with the ingredients.
Sift the flour and baking powder together, add to the cake batter in 3 steps and mix gently with a spoon.
Preheat oven to 180. C for 20 minutes. Grease the cake pan with solid oil or butter and then sprinkle with flour. Now gently transfer the icing to the mold and let it bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes.
If you are using a solarium for baking, select the cake option and set the temperature to 160 degrees.
If you are using a round cake tin, its diameter should be 24 cm and if you are using a rectangular mold, its dimensions should be 20 by 25 cm. Note that this cake should not be too thick.
In the meantime, mix coconut milk, honey milk and regular milk.
After cooking, take the cake out of the oven and use a slice to make sure it is completely cooked. Allow the cake to cool completely for 2 to 3 hours, then make small holes in it with a wooden knife or skewer and cut with a knife.
Pour the milk mixture over the cake and let it bake in the refrigerator for 2 hours. After that, form the pastry cream according to the instructions on the package and draw on the cake.
