Shawarma Chicken

Shawarma chicken is a popular street sandwich of Lebanese and Arab countries, which today is prepared with various ingredients around the world. Shawarma can be prepared with chicken or kebab dener or sausage. Shawarma is served with two types of sauces, one garlic sauce and one ardeh sauce, both of which are popular in Lebanon. Shawarma is prepared in two layers of pita bread.

Ingredients for preparing chicken shawarma

  1. Chicken breast: 1 piece
  2. Yogurt Abstract: 1/2 measure
  3. Grated orange peel: 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon
  5. Tomatoes: 2 pieces
  6. Pickles: 4 pieces
  7. Lettuce: 1 cup
  8. Salt, pepper, garlic, cloves and thyme: To the extent necessary

Ingredients for making shawarma sauce

  1. Ardeh: 3 tablespoons
  2. Concentrated yogurt: 1/2 glass
  3. Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  4. Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons
  5. Salt and garlic powder and red pepper: To the extent necessary

Preparation method:

First, chop the chicken breast into strips, then pour into a bowl and add the yogurt, lemon and spices along with the orange peel grate (the white part of the orange does not grate will cause bitterness). Massage the ingredients with the chicken, then put it in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours to make the chicken taste good.

Place the chicken breasts on a strainer until the excess sauce comes out, then lightly grease the chicken breasts and put a pan on the heat to heat, then fry the chicken breasts in a pan without oil. Fry until golden. Do not fry too much until dry.

Mix the flour well with the yogurt, then add the olive oil and spices to reach the concentration of mayonnaise.

Wash and dry the tomatoes, then cut them into strips and also cut the pickles into strips. Finely chop the lettuce. If lettuce is not available, you can also use cabbage. Now open the side of the pita bread and rub the special sauce on the bread, then pour the fried chicken with tomatoes, pickles and lettuce and roll it, then serve with tomato sauce.
