One of the simple and extremely delicious French dishes is quiche lorraine. Quiche is actually a tart or pie that is not sweet and the middle ingredient contains eggs.
Ingredients :
- Ham: 175 g
- Onions: 1 pc
- Grated cheese: 125 g
- egg : 2 pcs
- Low fat cream: 250 g
- Salt and pepper: To the extent necessary
- Ingredients for the dough:
- Flour: 175 grams
- Butter or margarine: 85 g
Preparation method:
First of all, prepare pie dough. Pour the flour into a large bowl or on a clean surface. Chop the butter or cold margarine and add to the butter. Now start mixing the butter with the flour with the help of your fingers. The butter melts with the heat of your fingers and gradually absorbs the flour. Keep doing this until the mixture looks like bread crumbs. Then add three tablespoons of cold water. Knead it to form a cohesive dough. Your pie dough is ready.
Sprinkle the surface with flour. Put the dough on it and open it with a rolling pin. Grease the pie and tart tin. Then spread the dough on it. After pressing the dough to the surface and walls of the quiche lorraine mold, cut the extra dough with a knife.
Refrigerate the mold for 15 to 30 minutes to allow the dough to cool completely. During this time, set the oven to 220 degrees Celsius and let it heat up. After this time, remove the mold from the refrigerator. Make a few holes in the dough with a fork. Then spread it on greaseproof paper dough and add some beans to make it heavy. These steps prevent the quiche lorraine dough from puffing in the oven. Now put it in the oven until the dough is half cooked. After 10 minutes, remove the greaseproof paper and beans from the dough and put it in the oven for another 10 minutes until the dough is slightly golden.
Set the dough aside to cool. Reduce the oven temperature to 180 degrees for the next step. Fry the chopped ham in a little oil to roast. Then take the extra oil and pour it into the half-cooked pie dough. Roast the chopped onion in the same greased pan until golden. Add hot onion to ham. Then pour grated cheese on quiche lorraine.
In a bowl, break the eggs and beat with a fork. Add cream, salt and pepper and stir. Pour the liquid over the other ingredients of French lorraine pie.
Put it in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes until it sets and turns golden. Serve this simple and delicious French dish after cooling down a bit.
