Date Bread And Cinnamon

Today we will introduce you to the recipe for making date bread and homemade cinnamon, which is easy to prepare. You must have the necessary ingredients to make this bread at home and you do not need to buy it again.


  • Active yeast: 7 g
  • Honey: 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped dates: 8 pieces
  • Sugar: 25 grams
  • Cinnamon powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Grated lemon peel: 1/2 lemon
  • White bread flour plus extra for sifting on bread: 250 grams
  • Wholemeal bread flour: 100 grams
  • Sea salt: 1/2 tablespoon
  • Milk for bread: To the extent necessary


Mix the yeast with honey and 30 ml of warm water and leave it for 10 minutes. Grease a 500 g loaf pan. Mix chopped dates, sugar, cinnamon and lemon peel in a bowl, cover and set aside.

Pour the flour into a large bowl and add salt to one side. Make a well-shaped flour in the center and pour the yeast mixture and 195 grams of warm water. Mix to make a dough. Spread flour or oil on a flat surface and knead for 5 minutes. Cover and let rest for 1 hour in a warm place.

Knead the dough again for 5 minutes, then shape it into a rectangle, approximately 16x25cm. Gently spread a spoonful of dates and cinnamon mixture on the dough. Cut the dough in half lengthwise and place half of it on top of the other.

Place the sides facing up. Repeat, so you have four long strips on top of each other. Glue the layers together, gently tape and wrap the strips together, and then place them inside the mold. Pull the end with your fingertips, then cover with a towel and let it rest for another hour.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and pour the milk over the dough and place the mold in the middle of the oven. Bake for 35 minutes, or until bread is puffed and golden. If the bread changes color too quickly or the dates harden, cover with foil. Refrigerate the bread for 5 minutes. Then serve.
