Ingredients
- Confectionery milk powder (get it from confectionery shops): 300 grams
- Softened butter at room temperature: 400 g
- Milk: 10 tablespoons
- Sugar: 120 grams
- Cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons
- Large wafer sheet: 4 pieces
- Finely chopped pistachios, almonds or hazelnuts: as needed
- Bar chocolate: 2 pieces (optional)
How to prepare
To make this fridge homemade dessert, first pour the milk into a saucepan and add sugar. Heat the milk and sugar over a medium gas flame until the sugar is completely dissolved in the milk. When the sugar is dissolved, remove the mixture from the gas to cool.
Beat the butter on high speed with a mixer or food processor until well combined, then add the chilled milk and sugar mixture. Do this little by little and stir the mixture at the same time with the mixer. Reduce the speed of the mixer or mixer and add the milk powder little by little. When the dough is smooth, divide it into two parts and add cocoa powder to one part and mix it again with the simple part of the wafer and mix well until it is smooth. If you want, add some nuts such as pistachios, hazelnuts or chopped almonds to this wafer.
Put a wafer sheet in a rectangular tray and pour the wafer mixture on it and smooth it with a flat lid. Then put another sheet of wafer on it and press well by hand. Put another sheet of wafer on it, pour the rest of the wafer and smooth it and put the fourth sheet of wafer on it and press again with a good hand. Be careful not to crush the wafer.
Instead of cocoa powder, you can add 2 to 3 drops of banana, orange or strawberry essential oil to this amount of wafer ingredients and mix well and make the wafer with it. If you want and if you like to have chocolate wafers in different flavors, after making any type of wafer with any taste, melt the chocolate bar with the Benmari method and pour it on the wafers.
Refrigerate the wafers for 3 to 4 hours and then cut into rectangles or squares with a sharp knife. This home-made pastry without oven can be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
