Arancini literally means small orange. Arancini is an appetizer or a kind of delicious and popular Italian food that means rice ball.
This dish is filled with meat or vegetables and cheese and covered with breadcrumbs and fried in oil.
Ingredients for 4 people:
- White rice (cooked): 2 cups
- Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup
- Eggs: 3 pieces
- Mozzarella cheese: 8 sheets
- Bread crumbs: 1 cup
- Oil: To the extent necessary
- Marinara sauce: 1 cup
How to prepare
Place the large pot on a medium flame and pour enough liquid oil into it to rise to a height of 10 cm.
Mix the rice, Parmesan cheese and 1 egg in a medium bowl and mix well using your hands.
Take a small piece of the mixture and press it well by hand and put 1 piece of mozzarella cheese in the middle.
Then shape into a ball. Repeat this to make 8 arancinis.
Beat the remaining eggs. Dip each aranchini in the eggs, then in the bread crumbs and shake to remove excess crumbs.
When the oil temperature reaches 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius), put 2 to 3 coated arancini in a saucepan and fry until golden brown and fully cooked.
Using a spatula, remove the fried aranchini from the pot and place them on a plate covered with a paper towel. Add salt to the aranchini immediately. Fry the rest of the aranchini in the same way.
Serve the aranchini hot with the heated marinara sauce.
Be sure to squeeze the aranchini when shaping well to compress as much as possible. This allows Aranchini to maintain its shape when blushed.
